The Seed Ball Initiative implemented under GREEN MISSION by UNATI represents a commendable effort to preserve the environment through innovative and sustainable means. Encapsulating seeds in nutrient-rich soil and clay to form seed balls, this initiative not only promotes re-forestation and biodiversity conservation, but also generates significant livelihood opportunities for marginalized communities.
Further, the generation of meaningful employment for three women’s Self-Help Groups, resulting in the revenue of around 5 lakhs, exemplifies the tangible and wide-reaching impact of the Seed Ball Initiative. This initiative has not only contributed to local livelihood development but also fosters women empowerment, gender inclusivity and social equity.
